It also produces lower operating temperatures, giving greater comfort to both the operator and the patient. In conjunction with the longer-lasting battery, less energy is required, so increased operating times of the Perkins tonometer are achieved.

The hand-held Perkins tonometer is comfortable to hold and well-balanced. It has been specifically designed to examine patients who have often been difficult to assess by traditional applanation tonometry methods. These include; bed-ridden, wheelchair-bound, paediatric and community-based patients.

The Perkins tonometer is compatible with both reusable Goldmann tonometer prisms and Haag-Streit Tonosafe disposable tonometer prisms. The easy-to-use ‘Tonogrip’ tonometer prism holder allows for straightforward placement of both sterilized Goldmann prisms and Tonosafe prisms.
